Reminders:

  • No School tomorrow - PD day

  • Report cards: A copy of your child's report card will be available online after 3:15 pm today through your Parent PowerSchool Account.  Full instructions on how to access the report are available in the attached PDF document: MyCBE-Accessing-Online-Report-Cards.pdf.  When you view the report card, you will notice the following statement, **Not Official Report Card **.  The reason for this is because the Official Student Record (student file housed at the school) contains the only official copy of the report card. This online copy is the same as the official copy the school will file. From home you may save this report card as a PDF or print it for your own records.
  • Yearbook sales:

    • VAS Yearbook sales will continue next week until Friday, January 31st. Please purchase your copy before noon on Friday. Yearbooks are being sold for $15.00 per copy. Once the fee has been paid, you will be able to print your own receipt if you desire as proof of payment. Our school yearbook will help build pride and community for our students with memories to last a lifetime. Thank you for your support and we look forward in sharing our school yearbook with you and your family. Please follow these steps to purchase your book online: - Log on to your Power School account - Choose your child/student (It will bring you to the main fees page) - Click on “School Based Optional Fees” - Click on “Yearbook” - Click “Add to Cart”
  • Literacy night on February 6:
    • On Thursday, February 6th at 6:30 pm, parents are invited to Varsity’s first Literacy Night.
    • Parents and guardians are invited to Join teacher Mme Jennifer McCann for a session covering how children learn to read, what the current research tells us is most effective and important, and how to best support your child.  A question and answer period will follow.
    • Although this presentation is best suited for parents with students in K-3, anyone is welcome to attend.

Today:
  • Lily: we had music and in music we had a guest that shared a brass instrument from his school
  • Abi: we cleaned up our desks and we put our work into our folders
  • Zoe: we did science and we made a crane to lift something and Mme pulled us off to the side so she could show us 3 different types of pulleys (poulie fixe, poulie mobile et poulie composée)
    • Ask me what I learned about pulleys!

  • Dane: we had gymnastics and did jumps and we put our routines on IRIS. Today was the last day for gymnastics
  • Maya: we read the last chapter of How To Train Your Dragon and we answered 3 questions about chapter 19
    • Ask me what happened in the last chapter!
  • Annalise: Elané presented a book that her grandpa wrote about the First Nations people. She also brought in a bag that was handmade by a First Nations person. 


  • Remas: we did lecture in French or worked on our book report and got our letter - LA COOPération
