October 31 (Day 3)

Reminders: English grammar homework on the vowel "O" due on Tuesday, November 5 Library day on Monday, please bring books Today we: Lily: did a scavenger hunt on math questions related to Halloween Mazen: we had music Lexi: had physical education with M. Trevor and we played Quidditch which is a game in Harry Potter Eliana: C'est l'Halloween!! Maya: we finished our 5 au quotidien cycle in English Lily: we started our grammar homework in English Lexi: wrote about our costume and details about our Halloween!

Ask me how this will be earned! Worked on area in math and discussed efficient strategies to calculate area Ask me what my efficient strategy is! read two chapters in the BFG and answered questions played revenge tag outside worked on Daily 5 in English corrected our French grammar on "les lettres muettes" and continued practicing this by working on a crossword

October 29 (Day 1)

Reminders: Return overdue books or renew French grammar homework on "les lettres muettes" due tomorrow On October 31, wear your normal clothes, orange, black or a costume (appropriate for school, please see Mme Brinson's message in Weekly Message) Today we: worked on our dream house in math - Abi Ask me how this relates to math! - Dane reviewed our notes for natural resources in the prairie region of Alberta in social studies - David had music - Dane did 5 au quotidien - Eliana had physical education with M. Trevor - Maya had science - Lexi did the life cycle of a plant and drew it out and talked about the different stages - Annalise read a book about the life cycle of a bean seed (la fève) - Zoe read 2 chapters of the BFG during snack, ask me about the story! - Abi

October 28 (Day 6)

Reminders: French grammar homework on Wednesday, October 30 (les lettres muettes)  Today we: had physical education with M. Trevor visit M. Trevor's blogger at  https://mtrevorphysed.blogspot.com/ researched facts about the natural resources found in the prairie region of Alberta Ask me the natural resources found in our region! read a chapter of the BFG and chose two characters to compare had indoor recess due to the cold windchill practiced calculating area by starting a plan for our dream house Ask me which rooms I plan on adding to my house! learned about the silent letters in French and had time to start our homework worked on our Daily 5 centers Had a presentation on marker recycling from the grade 3's Instead of throwing out your markers at home, please bring them to school to have them recycled!

October 25 (day 0)

Reminders: Halloween Dance tonight Photo orders due October 31 Today we: played capture the flag - Eliana checked the recess equipment - Lexi had a lockdown - Rhys cleaned our desks - Lily laughed a lot - Elané did work that needed to be finished - Abi read in French for 20 minutes - Annalise are half way from being done the BFG - Lexi read two chapter of the book today - Abi

Reminders: English grammar due tomorrow (day 5) Photo orders due on October 31 Today we: did Daily 5 in English - Lily had physical education, we played Varsity tower - Annalise did health, we worked on the zones of regulation - Brodie Ask me what the zones are! did social studies and in social studies we shared our notes about "le relief" and then we did "hydrographie" and started "le climat" - Lexi Ask me which region of Alberta we are learning about! did math, in math we used geoboards to use different shapes and drew them on paper to calculate the area- Maya went to the library and picked out books - Elané

Today we: did catch up work started algebraic equations using multiplication and division worked on an iPad project with our grade 1 learning buddies read in English for 10 minutes

October 17 (Day 1)

Wagner - Annalise I learned that there are pine beetles and that they eat trees and carries fungus that turns the trees blue - Dane I learned that the oldest tree in Canada was 1055 years old - Abi I learned that M. Reminders: Picture day on Thursday, October 10 Today we: corrected our French grammar homework put our Julie et le Bonhomme Sept-Heures stories on IRIS - ask me to share it with you! worked on the different parts of a paragraph and made a plan to write a paragraph on Thanksgiving worked in partners on word problems in math went to the learning commons to pick a book for our French book report - if the book is not a good-fit book, we can go exchange it on Thursday read in French for 20 minutes dissected and observed a flower  - ask me what the function of a flower is and the different parts Rhys' plant is growing! His is the first plant to start growing. 

October 7 (day 1)
