Reminders:

  • FOOD ALLERGIES OR SENSITIVITIES TO HOT CHOCOLATE AND CROISSANTS?
    On Wednesday, February 12th, students will be provided with hot chocolate and croissants as part of our celebration of French Canadian food and culture.  If you DO NOT want your child to eat this snack, please send me an email to let me know prior to Tuesday, Feb 11 and send a special snack for your child to eat on Feb. 12.  (Thank you to VASPFS for funding this treat for the school!)
  • On February 12, students are welcome to bring Valentine Cards to school if they choose.  If your child does choose to participate, please have them bring one for each student in their class.  Please do not send any candy, food or toys with the Valentines to school . Any food or candy that arrives at the school will not be sent home with other children.  Thank you for your understanding.  Valentines that have games/activities attached as part of their design will be permitted.  Please visit your child’s classroom blog for more details.

Today:
  • Lily: we did math and in math we wrote out numbers up to 10 000 in a table and there was an X on one of the place value's and we had to put the digit in the write spot
  • Jeremy: we did physical education and we were supposed to play bombardo but we actually played cheese ball
  • Eliana: we had music maybe we will do garage band
  • Annalise: we did science and in science we watched two videos about levers and how they work and then did some experiments on levers
    • Ask me the difference between the 3 different groups of levers!
    • Ask me how levers can make our lives easier!
    • Ask me how to balance on a teeter-totter if someone is heavier than me
    • Dane: I can lift the world!
  • Remas: we got our letter LA COOPERATion
  • Lily: we read for 30 minutes in English or in French
  • Abi: we had French and Mme took a photo from the book we're reading "Valentine Picotée" and then we looked at the personal pronouns on the page
  • Maya: we corrected our French grammar on pronouns
Testing out some different groups of levers - ask me which group I thought was the easiest to carry the bucket of weights!
